PHADIA Holding AB, Sweden, a global market leader in in-vitro allergy diagnostics acquires a 24.9% holding in VBC-GENOMICS Bioscience Research GmbH, Austria, the developer and supplier of a proprietary microarray technology (ISAC) enabling the analysis of an almost unlimited number of allergens in a single, analytic step. The acquisition was a combined transaction involving sale of shares and new issue of shares by capital increase with call options on the remaining shares (75.1%) in VBC-GENOMICS.

Interview with Dr. Mari

In the following we present a short interview with Dr. Adriano Mari who is among the leading allergologists in Italy today. Dr. Mari has been the first to introduce ISAC in the routine diagnostic practice in his laboratory at the IDI Hospital in Rome. Since the installation of the ISAC platform, many patients have been tested using the innovative allergen microarray approach.

We were curious to learn about the experience Dr. Mari has gained through working with this novel diagnostic test system. We were also interested into the feedback he has managed to collect from colleagues at the IDI. In addition to that we have asked Dr. Mari to comment on the benefits and possible drawbacks of ISAC in a routine diagnostic setting based on his hands-on experience.
